This blog is a skewed representation of my life based on the art on my fingers.
These are my natural nails and all designs are hand painted. All images are the property of me.

2012 Champions League Final
For the second time in three years, Munich has lost in the Champion's League final. These were the nails I did in the hope they'd win. Allianz Arena on the left, the Champion's League trophy over the crest on the thumb. On the right, a third attempt at a Phillip Lahm portrait, but I still don't think it turned out right. Maybe that was the unlucky part... On the fingers, the jerseys. Back to mourning for me... :'(

Purple Leopards
My parents sent me a Sally Hansen nail pen in purple and between the FA Cup final and the Champions League final, I decided to try it out. I went with a simple leopard pattern. I don't think the polish was completely dry when I did the top coat, hence some fading/blue patches, but for this particular design I think it actually works in its favour. I may have to experiment with these pens a bit more often...

In preparation for the FA Cup final on Saturday, Liverpool Nails. On the left hand is the top of the Liverpool crest (though I inadequately factored in the curve of my nails and the centre gets a bit lost). On the thumb is just YNWA.
On the right hand thumb is the FA Cup. On the first three fingers Liverbirds and "FA" on the pinkie.
C'mon you Reds!

Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms
I forgot to upload these a week and a bit ago when I actually did them (sorry Mom!). For the anniversary of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, these nails were done. On the left hand, an outline of Canada and a maple leaf. On the right, Jean Chretien <3, Pierre Trudeau, and the Queen, circa 1982 (from the photo of her signing it into the constitution). On the thumbs, because Bayern Munich was in the semi-finals (and is now in the final!), a partial crest.

St. John's IceCaps and Hamilton Bulldogs
Tonight the Hamilton Bulldogs return to St. John's and in honour of this occasion, partial hockey nails. On the right thumb the Bulldogs logo, on the left the IceCaps logo. On the left hand is also half of a hockey rink on each nail. And, as Bayern is playing their second leg against Basel this evening as well, home jerseys on the left hand. I ran out of room a bit on the IceCaps nail and the last "p" and "s" are somewhat squished and unreadable but the idea is there. And, as I always say, since I'm left handed the left hand is always worse so I'll use that as the excuse for not placing my wording correctly.
Liverpool Carling Cup
For Liverpool's Carling Cup game on the 26th of March, and the return of Roll Up, and Bayern's game with Basel in the Champions League, there was a new set of nails. On the thumb's were Rrroll Up cups. On the right hand were parts of iconic Liverpool buildings - from left to right the Liver Building, Port Authority, and Town Hall. Aslo the Carling Cup on the pinkie. On the left hand, two FC Bayern nails (they didn't turn out very well), the Liver bird for LFC and the Bluebird for Cardiff City. And Liverpool won (at the last possible moment... but won!)!

Newfoundland Beer
While sitting at the Duke one evening for some football/hockey, this idea was proposed to me. So here is a representative sample of some Newfoundland beers. On the left hand: Black Horse, Blue Star, Storm's Irish Red, and Yellowbelly's St. John's Stout. On the right: India, Quidi Vidi's Honey Brown, Jockey Club, and Dominion Ale. Little bottles on the pinkies.

World Juniors 2011/2012
I finished these on the night of the quarter finals to ensure I had the accurate teams on the nails for the semis. On the left hand is a tribute to Team Canada (shame they lost to Russia... and couldn't make the comeback count) and the vintage jersey logo which I rather like. On the right hand, the jersey logos for Canada, Sweden, Russia and Finland. The pinkies are the gold maple leaf from this tournament's logo and IIHF.
